A Calgary Flames fan favourite is on his way out the door.
Forward Justin Kirkland is signing a one-year, two-way deal worth $850,000 at the NHL level, Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet The Fan 960 reported Wednesday.
According to Steinberg, the deal is worth $500,000 at the AHL level and comes with $550,000 guaranteed.
Kirkland, 29, suited up for 20 games with the Flames last season, finishing with one goal and one assist while playing 9:49 of average ice time per night. He added 11 goals and 11 assists in 42 games with the Calgary Wranglers in the AHL.
Drafted 62nd overall by the Nashville Predators in 2014, Kirkland made his NHL debut in the 2022-23 season with the Anaheim Ducks.
In 50 NHL games split between the Ducks, Flames and Arizona Coyotes, he has three goals and seven assists.
