Kadri travelling with Avalanche to Tampa, still considered day-to-day

Colorado Avalanche coach Jared Bednar gives injury updates on two Avs players, saying Andre Burakovsky is being evaluated after his suspected hand injury in Game 2, while Nazem Kadri is with the team as he progresses after thumb surgery.

Colorado Avalanche forward Nazem Kadri is travelling with the team to Tampa but is still considered day-to-day, head coach Jared Bednar said Sunday.

Bednar added he's hopeful Kadri will return this series, but wouldn't say whether that could be in Game 3 or 4.

Kadri skated alone for the third consecutive day on Saturday. The forward is still recovering from thumb surgery after he was injured in Game 3 of the Western Conference Final when he was taken into the boards by Edmonton Oilers forward Evander Kane.

Prior to the injury, he had six goals and eight assists through 13 playoff games this spring.

Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final takes place Monday at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT. Watch it live on Sportsnet or SN NOW.
