The Oilers are holding onto a member of their forward core.
Kasperi Kapanen has signed a one-year, $2.6-million deal with Edmonton, the team announced on Wednesday.
The 29-year-old right-shot winger had 17 points (eight goals, nine assists) over 41 games with the Oilers last season.
Kapanen has spent the past two seasons with Edmonton.
Kapanen enjoyed his best seasons with the Toronto Maple Leafs, recording his lone 20-goal season in 2018-19 with the blue and white. He has 239 points over 568 games with the Oilers, Leafs, Pittsburgh Penguins and St. Louis Blues.
