The Los Angeles Kings finished Monday's game against the Seattle Kraken without Adrian Kempe.
The team announced that the forward would not return to the contest due to a personal matter. He exited the game in the third period.
The 28-year-old finished his evening having played 13:21 with four shots on goal.
Kings head coach Jim Hiller confirmed after the game that Kempe's absence was for a "good reason."
Kempe leads the Kings in goals and points, having tallied 33 and 64, respectively, on the season. He's in the third season of a four-year, $22 million contract.
