Anze Kopitar exited the Los Angeles Kings' game against the Minnesota Wild in the first period on Tuesday with a lower-body injury and was ruled out for the remainder of the night, the team announced.
The 38-year-old centre got tied up with Wild forward Marcus Foligno in the corner in what appeared to be a routine play.
However, Kopitar promptly skated off the ice after and appeared to be moving gingerly as he exited to the locker room.
The Fourth Period's Dennis Bernstein reported after the game that Kopitar left the Kings' locker room with no apparent limp or impediment.
The Kings' captain has seen his production slow this season, netting six goals and 15 assists in 36 games, on pace for well below his usual numbers.
Los Angeles is fourth in the Pacific Division and currently occupies the final wild-card spot in the Western Conference with a 17-14-9 record.
