The Los Angeles Kings have their captain back.
Anze Kopitar returned to action Saturday against the Philadelphia Flyers after missing the past 11 games with a lower-body injury.
The Kings captain left a game against Minnesota on Jan. 5 after getting tied up with Wild forward Marcus Foligno in the corner on what appeared to be a routine play. Kopitar promptly skated off the ice and appeared to be moving gingerly as he exited to the locker room.
In what he announced will be his final season, Kopitar recorded six goals and 15 assists in 37 games prior to the injury.
In a corresponding move, the Kings placed Alex Turcotte on injured reserve with an upper-body injury.
Los Angeles currently sits sixth in the Pacific Division with 57 points. The Kings face off against the Flyers on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. ET / 9:30 a.m. PT on Sportsnet ONE and Sportsnet+.
