Kings forward Quinton Byfield out indefinitely with fractured ankle

Quinton Byfield had to be helped off the ice after being injured awkwardly against the boards.

Los Angeles Kings forward Quinton Byfield has been diagnosed with a fractured left ankle and will be out indefinitely, the team announced on Wednesday.

Byfield sustained the injury in Tuesday night's pre-season game against the Arizona Coyotes.

The 19-year-old registered one assist in six games for the Kings last season. He was selected second overall by Los Angeles in the 2020 NHL Draft.
