Los Angeles Kings forward Tanner Jeannot is facing supplemental discipline after an illegal hit on Vancouver Canucks' Brock Boeser.
On Friday, the NHL's department of player safety announced that Jeannot would have a hearing for an illegal check to the head on Boeser, which occurred during Thursday's game.
The hearing will not be in person, which means a potential suspension for Jeannot cannot exceed five games.
The hit happened in the first period, when Jeannot appeared to make contact with Boeser's chin on an open-ice hit after Boeser had passed the puck. The Canucks' winger went to the locker room immediately after and was ruled out for the rest of the game.
Jeannot was assessed a match penalty, which triggered an automatic review by the league.
Canucks head coach Rick Tocchet had no update on Boeser's status following the game, but did call the play "dangerous."
Vancouver went on to beat the Kings 4-2.
