The Los Angeles Kings are retaining one of their AHL stalwarts.
RIght-winger Taylor Ward has put pen to paper on a one-year, two-way contract with the Kings, worth $775,000 at the NHL level and $300,000 at the AHL level, the team announced Wednesday.
Ward, 27, spent the majority of last season with the Ontario Reign, the Kings' AHL affiliate.
He picked up 12 goals and 15 assists in 66 regular-season games and was held without a point in two post-season games.
Ward made his NHL debut last season on April 17, picking up a goal in a 5-1 loss to the Calgary Flames.
The Kelowna, B.C. native was signed by the Kings as an undrafted free agent during the 2021-22 season after completing his fourth year at the University of Nebraska, Omaha.
