The Los Angeles Kings have recalled forward Quinton Byfield from AHL affiliate Ontario Reign Thursday morning.

The second overall pick in the 2020 NHL Draft will make his season debut Thursday night when the Kings host the Colorado Avalanche at Crypto.com Arena. Byfield collected one assist in six games for Los Angeles in the 2020-21 season.

The 19-year-old recorded four goals and two assists with the Reign in the 2021-22 AHL season. In two seasons, Byfield put up 26 points in the AHL helping the Reign qualify for last year's playoffs.

The Newmarket, Ont. native represented Canada at the last two IIHF World Junior championships, winning gold and silver. Byfield was the youngest player of the 2020 World Juniors and played all seven games for Canada on their way to the gold medal.
