The Los Angeles Kings have signed defenceman Vladislav Gavrikov to a two-year contract extension Wednesday.
Gavrikov's agent Dan Milstein announced the extension on Twitter.
Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman says the deal will carry a $5.875 AAV over the two seasons.
Friedman is also reporting that $10.2 million of the contract will be paid in an initial signing bonus, and that the deal has a full no-movement clause built in.
Gavrikov was set to become one of the top UFAs on July 1 before signing the extension.
A native of Yaroslavl, Russia, Gavrikov was acquired by the Kings at this year's NHL trade deadline in a trade with the Columbus Blue Jackets. In 20 games with Los Angeles, he scored three goals and dished out six assists.
He played in all six games of the Kings' Round 1 series loss to the Edmonton Oilers in this year's Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Gavrikov has 18 goals and 64 assists over 276 career regular season games with both the Kings and Blue Jackets.
More to come.
