The Los Angeles Kings are adding some physicality to their forward group.
Mathieu Joseph is signing with the Kings on a one-year, $900,000 pro-rated deal, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reported Friday.
Joseph had his contract with the St. Louis Blues terminated earlier on Friday after being placed on waivers Thursday.
Joseph, who is due for free agency after the season, previously cleared waivers and was subsequently assigned to the AHL.
Because he signed with the Kings before the 3 p.m. ET deadline, he'll be eligible to suit up for the post-season should the Kings quallify.
The 27-year-old has appeared in 39 games for St. Louis this season, registering two goals and 11 points.
The fourth-round pick from the 2015 NHL Draft has 61 goals and 160 points in 459 career NHL games with the Ottawa Senators and Tampa Bay Lightning.
