As Los Angeles gets to work rebuilding from the tragic wildfires that swept through numerous communities, everyone is rallying to do their part.
The Los Angeles Kings announced a celebrity and NHL All Star Alumni hockey game benefiting the LA Fire Relief Fund. Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman first reported on the plans on the Saturday Headlines segment of Hockey Day in Canada.
The team also announced that the available tickets will be distributed to firefighters, first responders, and displaced families in the area.
The wildfires that began on Jan. 7 raged through homes, structures, and neighbourhoods, as intense winds caused them to spread rapidly through the Palisades and surrounding areas.
The Jan. 8 game between the L.A. Kings and Calgary Flames was postponed due to the disaster, and a makeup game is expected to be rescheduled for April 17, the last night of the NHL regular season.
