Nobody will ever wear No. 11 for the Los Angeles Kings again.
The Kings are retiring Anze Kopitar's jersey and unveiling a statue in his honour, the team announced on Friday.
They will hold the ceremony on Feb. 24 when the Kings take on the Montreal Canadiens.
Kopitar retired at the end of last season after spending his entire 20-year career in L.A. He appeared in 1,521 games for the franchise with 1,316 points (452 goals, 864 assists) and served as captain since 2016.
The 38-year-old retired as the Kings' all-time leader in assists, points, games played, seasons and game-winning goals.
Kopitar is also a two-time Selke Trophy winner and a three-time recipient of the Lady Byng Trophy. He also played a major role in getting the Kings their two Stanley Cups (in 2012 and 2014).
In 107 career playoff games, he had 27 goals and 62 assists for 89 points.
