Kirill Marchenko is making his Toronto Maple Leafs debut on opening night.
The 26-year-old will play on Tuesday night against the Montreal Canadiens, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman confirmed.
The game can be seen on Sportsnet and Sportsnet+ beginning at 7 p.m. ET/ 4 p.m. PT.
Marchenko, who was acquired by the Maple Leafs from the Columbus Blue Jackets on Monday, arrived in Toronto on Tuesday but required visa approval in order to play.
Toronto acquired the scoring winger from the Blue Jackets, along with goalie Elvis Merzlikins and forward Miles Wood, in exchange for Matthew Knies, Steven Lorentz, Emil Andrae and a 2027 second-round pick on Monday.
The Maple Leafs then signed Marchenko, who was set to become a restricted free agent after the season, to a six-year, $75-million contract extension.
Marchenko had 27 goals and 67 points in 76 games for the Blue Jackets last season.
