The Seattle Kraken have activated one of their trade chips from injured reserve just days before the deadline.
Centre Yanni Gourde will return to the lineup Tuesday against the Minnesota Wild.
Gourde, 33, has not played since Jan. 2 due to sports hernia surgery. His contract expires at the end of the season, making him a desirable depth-centre candidate for teams at the deadline.
Known for his defensive play, Gourde has 16 points in 35 games this season. He won two Stanley Cups with the Tampa Bay Lightning and was selected by the Kraken in the 2021 expansion draft.
