The Seattle Kraken went down a goalie on Monday night.
Netminder Philipp Grubauer has been ruled out for the remainder of the game against the Winnipeg Jets with a lower-body injury, the team announced.
It's unclear how the injury occurred, but the 34-year-old pulled himself out of the game with 6:40 remaining in the second period.
Before his exit, he allowed three goals on 18 shots for an .833 save percentage.
Grubauer, a native of Germany, appeared in 31 games for the Kraken prior to Monday, recording 13 wins with a .910 save percentage and a 2.59 goals-against average.
The Kraken have not officially been eliminated from playoff contention yet, but face a near-impossible hill sitting at sixth in the Pacific Division.
