The Seattle Kraken signed 2022 first-round pick Shane Wright to an entry-level deal on Wednesday worth $2.85 million over three years.

Projected by many analysts to be chosen first overall at last week's draft, Wright was passed over by the Montreal Canadiens, who used their top pick on Slovakian forward Juraj Slafkovsky, the New Jersey Devils and the Arizona Coyotes before he was chosen.

In two seasons with the Kingston Frontenacs of the OHL, Wright scored 71 goals and added 89 assists for 160 points in 121 games.
