Seattle Kraken forward Andre Burakovsky was dealing with a tear in his groin that forced him to miss the final stretch of the season.
General manager Ron Francis said the injury originally occurred in the first game post-All-Star Break and was originally expected to return after the trade deadline. Unfortunately, a setback led to the decision for Burakovsky to have surgery which entailed a six-week recovery.
The 28-year-old is expected to be ready for the start of training camp. In 49 games this season, Burakovsky registered 13 goals and 39 points.
