The Seattle Kraken ended up down forward Berkly Catton in Thursday's game against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Catton left the game with an apparent upper-body injury after taking a hit up-high from Maple Leafs defenceman Oliver Ekman-Larsson in the first period.
Seattle ruled Catton out for the remainder of the game midway through the second.
The hit came as Catton reached out to try to poke the puck into the Maple Leafs' end. His head was down and made contact with Ekman-Larsson's hip.
Catton had played just 3:12 before being forced to leave.
The 20-year-old rookie entered Thursday's game with five goals and six assists in 39 games.
