The Seattle Kraken will be without their captain for a minimum of three months.
The team announced Friday that forward Jordan Eberle underwent successful pelvic surgery and is expected to be sidelined until at least February as he recovers.
The 34-year-old was injured on Nov. 14 against the Chicago Blackhawks as he was chasing a puck into the offensive zone. He got tangled up with Blackhawks defender Connor Murphy, sending both of them hard into the end boards.
Eberle remained down on the ice for several seconds before leaving the ice with training staff.
In 16 games for the Kraken this season, Eblerle has scored six goals and 11 points, including one game-winner. The 34-year-old was named the second captain in franchise history, succeeding Mark Giordano, on Oct. 8.
