Jared McCann has gone down with another injury, only weeks after returning to the ice.
The Seattle Kraken forward was hobbled late in the third period of Wednesday's game against the Los Angeles Kings after a collision with Kings goalie Anton Forsberg.
The collision, which came in the final minute as the Kraken were pushing to tie the game, happened when McCann backed over Forsberg's leg as the goalie tried to return to his crease after playing the puck behind the net. McCann was down in pain on the ice but was able to skate off on his own power before being helped down the hallway to the Kraken locker room.
Forsberg was given a tripping penalty on the play and the Kraken tied the game 2-2 on the power play. Seattle then won the game 3-2 in overtime with another power-play goal.
McCann was skating in just his 11th game of the season after missing most of November with a lower-body injury. He returned to the lineup on Nov. 26 and has five goals and eight points this season after scoring on Wednesday.
