Tampa Bay Lightning star Nikita Kucherov joined some elite company on Monday night.
With an assist on Brayden Point's first-period goal in Monday's game against the New York Rangers, Kucherov now has at least 80 assists in three straight seasons. He joined Wayne Gretzky, Paul Coffey and Bobby Orr as the only players in NHL history to accomplish the feat.
Kucherov also opened the scoring in Monday's game as part of a Lightning barrage that saw them score three goals in under two minutes to go up 3-0.
The 31-year-old forward added another assist later in the game and is now tied with Nathan MacKinnon for the league lead in points with 115.
The Lightning have already locked up a playoff spot and sit second in the Atlantic Division.
