Kyle Okposo will make a long-awaited return to playoff hockey on Thursday.
The Florida Panthers forward will be in the lineup for Game 3 of the team's first-round series against the Tampa Bay Lightning, coach Paul Maurice confirmed.
Acquired from the Buffalo Sabres at the trade deadline, Okposo, 36, hasn't played a playoff game since 2016 when he was a member of the New York Islanders.
The Sabres' captain at the time of the trade, Okposo didn't have a point in six games with the Panthers during the regular season.
Okposo has played 1,051 career games in the regular season, but just 24 in the playoffs.
Forward Ryan Lomberg (illness) remains out.
The Panthers lead Tampa 2-0 in the best-of-seven series. Watch Game 3 on Thursday at 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT on Sportsnet or Sportsnet+.
