L.A. Kings sign goalie Matthew Villalta to one-year, two way extension

The Los Angeles Kings have signed goaltender Matthew Villalta to a one-year, two-way contract extension worth an AAV of $787,500, the club announced on Friday.

The 6-2, 185-pound Villalta was drafted by the Kings in the third round (72nd overall) of the 2017 NHL Draft out of the Soo Greyhounds of the Ontario Hockey League. The native of Kingston, Ont., posted a 28-10-7 record, 2.98 GAA, and .903 save percentage in 46 appearances this past seasonwith the Ontario Reign of the AHL.
