VANCOUVER, B.C. — Conor Garland scored 90 seconds into overtime and the Vancouver Canucks defeated the visiting Edmonton Oilers 3-2 in N-H-L.
Jonathan Lekkerimaki gave the Canucks a 1-0 lead at 19:49 of the first period, but second-period goals by Kasperi Kapanen and Leon Draisaitl gave the Oilers a 2-1 lead heading into the third period.
Lekkerimaki scored the tying goal at 5:58 of the third period to force overtime.
The Canucks went 1-for-4 on the power play, while the Oilers were 1-for-3. Both teams had 27 shots on goal.
Canucks' centre Elias Pettersson took an elbow to the head area and left the game in the second period and did not return.
