A week after signing defenceman J.J. Moser to an extension, the Tampa Bay Lightning are conducting more business across their blue line.
The Lightning have signed defenceman Charle-Edouard D'Astous to a one-year, $875,000 contract extension, the team announced Friday.
D'Astous, 27, is currently in his first season with the Lightning after spending the past three years playing overseas. He has three goals and 10 assists in 33 games and is third among Lightning defencemen in blocked shots (34) and hits (37).
Prior to returning to North America, D'Astous played with Brynas IF in the Swedish Hockey League and was named the league's defenceman of the year. He had previously spent two seasons with KooKoo in the Finnish Elite League.
The Rimouski, Que., native played four years of junior hockey with the Rimouski Oceanic in the QMJHL before going undrafted in 2019 and signing with the Toledo Walleye of the ECHL.
He joined the Lightning on a one-year, two-way contract as a free agent in early May, 2025.
