The Tampa Bay Lightning have signed defenceman Fredrik Claesson to a one-year, two-way contract, the team announced Saturday.
Terms of the deal have not yet been disclosed.
Claesson, 28, was acquired by Tampa Bay from the San Jose Sharks in April and played two games for the Lightning this season. Before the trade, he skated in four games with the Sharks registering three shots on net and a plus-1 rating.
Over 161 career NHL games with the Bolts, Sharks, New Jersey Devils, New York Rangers and Ottawa Senators, Claesson has recorded seven goals and 28 points in six seasons.
The Swedish defenceman was selected by the Senators in the fifth round of the 2011 NHL Draft, 126th overall.
