The Tampa Bay Lightning have added some forward depth.
Forward Nick Abruzzese signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Lightning, the team announced on Tuesday.
Abruzzese, 26, had 43 points (15 goals and 28 assists) in 71 games with the AHL’s Toronto Marlies last season. The left-shot centre has played 211 career AHL games, all with the Marlies, recording 143 points (47 goals and 96 assists).
The Slate Hill, N.Y. native represented Team USA at the 2022 Olympic Games scoring a goal and tallying four points in four games. Abruzzese made his NHL debut with the Toronto Maple Leafs on April 2, 2022 and scored his first NHL goal April 29, 2022 against the Boston Bruins.
Abruzzese was selected in the fourth round, 124th overall by the Maple Leafs in the 2019 NHL Draft.
