The Tampa Bay Lightning continue to get hit hard by injuries.
Brayden Point and Erik Cernak were not on the ice for the morning skate and won't play against the Philadelphia Flyers Monday night, head coach Jon Cooper told reporters.
Point was hurt during Saturday's game against the Washington Capitals after suffering an undisclosed injury late in the second period. Cooper was uncertain if Point would be able to play against Wednesday against the Calgary Flames.
After returning to the lineup from a two-game absence against the Capitals, Cernak suffered a different injury that will force him to miss significant time. He had an assist in 22:24 of ice time.
The Lightning's blue line has been hit hard by injuries with captain Victor Hedman and veteran Ryan McDonagh also sidelined. The team recalled defenceman Maxim Groshev from the AHL's Syracuse Crunch.
Forward Nikita Kucherov was a participant at morning skate after he left Saturday's game with an undisclosed injury. The 32-year-old has 10 goals and 22 points in 19 games this season.
