Tampa's Austin Watson was fined $2,022.57, the maximum allowable under the CBA, for unsportsmanlike conduct at the end of Thursday night’s game against Nashville.
Watson took a slapshot at the Predators' Jeremy Lauzon at 20:00 of the third period. Watson was assessed an unsportsmanlike minor as well as a 10-minute misconduct. Lauzon appeared to be injured by the shot, but there was no immediate word on his condition.
The money goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.
