In the spirit of the holiday season, stars from temporary neighbours Tampa Bay Lightning and the Toronto Raptors have teamed up to make a donation for children’s toys.
On Wednesday, Stamkos announced that he and teammate Victor Hedman had donated to a local Tampa charity to help struggling families this holiday season.
With the Raptors using the Lightning’s Amalie Arena to house their home games this season, Stamkos called on Kyle Lowry and the rest of the organization to encourage them to donate to the cause.
Lowry replied to Stamkos to say he was in, and thanked the Lightning captain and the Tampa community for sharing their home with the Raptors this season.
The 34-year-old added he will be donating to Toronto’s Red Door Family Shelter this holiday season, too.
