Michael Hrabal, one of the top goaltenders in college hockey, has signed an entry-level deal with the Utah Mammoth, the team announced Wednesday.
Hrabal's contract will begin at the start of the 2026-27 season, but the goaltender will report to the AHL's Tucson Roadrunners on a professional tryout agreement for the remainder of the 2025-26 campaign.
“Michael had a dominant season at UMass and we are very excited to have him signed,” Mammoth general manager Bill Armstrong said in the release. “He is a big, athletic goaltender who continues to get better each season, recently being named the Hockey East Player of the Year. We look forward to watching his continued development.”
The 21-year-old recently completed his junior season at UMass-Amherst, posting a 19-9-1 record with a .937 save percentage and 1.95 goals-against average in 29 appearances with the Minutemen.
He was selected as a finalist for the Mike Richter Award, given to the top goaltender in NCAA hockey.
A native of Prague, Czechia, Hrabal has represented his country on numerous occasions, including in the 2024 and 2025 world juniors, where he helped the side to consecutive bronze medals.
The six-foot-six, 209-pound goaltender was selected by the Arizona Coyotes 38th overall in the 2023 NHL Draft.
