The Utah Mammoth may be parting with their Day 1 goalie.
Connor Ingram was among seven players waived across the NHL on Thursday, the first day teams were eligible to use waivers.
Ingram, who has not participated in training camp, hits the wire after general manager Bill Armstrong indicated he was ready to give Ingram a chance to land with another team just days ago.
He entered the NHL/NHLPA Player Assistance Program on March 9 following his mother’s death from breast cancer.
“We’re excited for him and his path to recovery, that’s the biggest thing,” Armstrong told reporters earlier in training camp. “He will either get a chance to play for another NHL team or he will go to the American Hockey League and resume his play. But at the end of the day he will be playing and that’s what we’re so excited for.”
Ingram went 9-8-4 with a 3.27 goals-against average and an .882 save percentage in 22 games last season.
Six other players were placed on waivers Thursday:
• Hunter Shepard, G, Senators
• Cameron Crotty, D, Senators
• Wyatt Bongiovanni, C, Senators
• Xavier Bourgault, C, Senators
• Garrett Pilon, C, Senators
• Oscar Eklind, LW, Flyers
