The Toronto Maple Leafs acquired defenceman Cade Webber from the Carolina Hurricanes on Thursday in exchange for a sixth-round selection in the 2026 NHL Draft.
Webber is in his fourth year at Boston University and has registered six assists in 30 games this season.
The 23-year-old from Meadville, Pa., was drafted in the fourth round, 99th overall, by the Hurricanes in 2019.
He has 16 points — one goal and 15 assists — in 115 career games with Boston University.
