The Toronto Maple Leafs supplemented their big deadline acquisitions of Brandon Carlo and Scott Laughton on Friday with some depth up front.
Toronto landed forward Reese Johnson from the Minnesota Wild in exchange for future considerations.
Johnson, 26, has spent most of 2024-25 with the AHL's Iowa Wild, picking up 13 points and 35 penalty minutes in 49 games. The right-shot forward has also seen three games of NHL action, getting into three games with Minnesota.
The Regina native joined the Wild on a two-way free-agent contract last summer after beginning his career with the Chicago Blackhawks.
Over four seasons in the Windy City, Johnson skated in 141 NHL games, scoring seven goals and 17 points.
