Artur Akhtyamov is heading back to the Toronto Marlies.
The backup goalie has been assinged to the AHL, the Maple Leafs announced on Thursday.
Akhtyamov was called up to the NHL roster ahead of Monday's victory against the San Jose Sharks and spent two games with Toronto, waiting in reserve as the Leafs started Sergei Bobrovsky and Anthony Stolarz in that span.
The 24-year-old has yet to suit up for the Maple Leafs this season after making three appearances (two starts) in 2025-26. He posted a 5.24 goals-against average and .877 save percentage over that span.
The Russian netminder also played a role in the Marlies' Calder Cup run last season. He made 37 regular-season appearances, maintaining a 2.88 GAA and .904 save percentage and improved those numbers to 2.22 and .924 through 22 playoff games. In three games for the Marlies this season, Akhtyamov has allowed nine goals for a .882 save percentage.
He was taken by the Maple Leafs in the fourth round (106th overall) of the 2020 draft.
