The Toronto Maple Leafs are making a roster move.
Miles Wood has been called up from the Toronto Marlies of the AHL, the team announced on Friday.
Wood was acquired from the Columbus Blue Jackets the day before the season began as part of the Kirill Marchenko-Matthew Knies trade. He was sent down to the Marlies before he could join the Maple Leafs.
The 31-year-old appeared in 54 games for the Blue Jackets in 2025-26, totalling eight goals and six assists for 14 points. He hasn't appeared in the Marlies' first two games of the season.
Wood has been a dependable bottom-six forward throughout his career. He's had five double-digit goal campaigns, including 19- and 17-goal seasons while with the New Jersey Devils.
The Maple Leafs are 2-2-1 and are coming off a shootout loss to the Vegas Golden Knights. Wood can make his Maple Leafs debut when Toronto returns to action on Saturday against the Colorado Avalanche (Sportsnet and Sportsnet+ at 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT).
