Toronto Maple Leafs defenceman Travis Dermott missed practice on Friday and is categorized as day-to-day, according to Sportsnet's Luke Fox.
Dermott left Thursday's game versus the Canucks after the first period due to a leg injury and did not return.
“I think it looks like it's pretty minor," Maple Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe said. "It was just a charley horse. Just something that he kept waiting and waiting to see if it was just going to go away, try to get it moving. It just didn't settle down enough here for tonight, but we're not expecting it to be anything too major.”
In his absence, Finnish defenceman Mikko Lehtonen, who signed a one-year, entry-level contract with the Maple Leafs worth $925,000 back in May, will suit up for Toronto Saturday night. Keefe made a point to discuss that decision with Rasmus Sandin, per Fox, as the 20-year-old has been eager to make his season debut.
There is also no return date yet for goaltender Jack Campbell.
The Leafs easily handled the Vancouver Canucks 7-3 on Thursday and are presently sitting at 8-2-1 through 11 games, atop of the all-Canadian North Division.
