There is just something about Domis leaving their impact on the Battle of Ontario.
Max Domi calmed the nerves of Toronto Maple Leafs fans with the overtime winner over the Ottawa Senators after coughing up a 2-0 lead in Game 2.
The Leafs forward beat Linus Ullmark with a perfect shot to provide Toronto with their first 2-0 series lead in the Stanley Cup Playoffs since 2002, when his father, Tie, went up against the New York Islanders.
As Sportsnet Stats points out, it was also a redeeming moment for the Domi family as Tie was on the ice for the most recent overtime goal against in the Battle of Ontario in the post-season.
Many couldn't help but feel nostalgic watching Max write another chapter in the Battle of Ontario. Here are some of the reactions.
Before becoming the overtime hero for the Leafs, Domi was receiving his fair share of criticism, especially with the forward's last goal coming back on March 30.
Safe to say, scoring a big goal in the playoffs seems to have quieted the doubters, especially with Domi putting in some extra work heading into the game.
