The Toronto Maple Leafs are down a defenceman on Sunday.
Oliver Ekman-Larsson won't play against the Minnesota Wild (Sportsnet, Sportsnet+, 7:30 p.m. ET / 4:30 p.m. PT) due to the birth of his child, the team announced.
Ekman-Larsson, 34, has enjoyed a resurgent season with the Maple Leafs, notching eight goals and 27 assists in 65 games.
However, he is riding a six-game point drought and has not scored since Jan. 17.
In a corresponding move, the Maple Leafs recalled fellow blue-liner Henry Thrun on an emergency basis.
Thrun, 25, is without a point in four games with the team this season.
After taking on the Wild, the Maple Leafs return to the ice Tuesday when they host the New York Islanders.
