The Toronto Maple Leafs will be looking to continue their climb up the Atlantic Division standings with a fifth straight win when they host the Boston Bruins on Saturday night as -130 betting favourites on the NHL odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.
Toronto earned a 2-1 overtime win over the visiting Tampa Bay Lightning on Thursday night to claim sole possession of second place in the divisional standings going into Saturday night’s matchup at Scotiabank Arena.
The recent steady play of netminder Jack Campbell has proven to be a difference maker. Campbell was spectacular at times while turning aside 24 of the 25 shots in Thursday’s win, and has allowed just three total goals during a 3-0-0 run. That has fueled consistent results for the UNDER at sports betting sites when Campbell plays, as the UNDER has prevailed in each of his three recent wins and in seven of his eight starts.
Fresh off a lopsided 5-1 win over Detroit on Thursday night, the Bruins will arrive in Toronto set as +110 underdogs for Saturday. Boston has now tallied two straight wins, including a 3-2 shootout victory over the previously undefeated Florida Panthers. However, the Bruins have struggled on the road, falling to defeat in three of four outings, and have lost six of their last eight regular season road dates with Toronto according to the OddsShark NHL Database.
Also on Saturday, the Montreal Canadiens search for answers as they get set to host the Vegas Golden Knights as -105 underdogs. The Canadiens saw a modest two-game home win streak come to an end with Thursday’s 6-2 loss to the New York Islanders. In addition to allowing four or more goals on seven occasions during a dismal 3-9-0 start, Montreal also ranks 31st in the NHL at just 2.00 goals scored per game.
Winners in four of five contests, the Golden Knights hit the Bell Centre ice on Saturday set as -115 favourites. The team has seen three of its four recent wins come on the road, capped by Thursday’s 5-1 victory over the Ottawa Senators. However, the Golden Knights are winless in three all-time visits to Montreal.
Earlier in the day on Saturday, the Senators will entertain the Lightning as +155 home underdogs. Ottawa has seen a solid start fizzle with just one win in its past seven contests. Listed as -180 chalk, the Lightning saw a three-game win streak come to an end with Thursday’s defeat in Toronto, but have surrendered just six goals during a current 3-0-1 run.
Elsewhere on the Saturday NHL odds, the Winnipeg Jets will play host to the New York Islanders in a matchup set as a pick’em at sportsbooks, while the Calgary Flames will welcome the New York Rangers to town as -130 betting favourites.
