Toronto Maple Leafs goalie prospect Joseph Woll will make his NHL debut against the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday, head coach Sheldon Keefe confirmed.
The 23-yeard-old gets the start on the second-half of the back-to-back after the Leafs picked up a 2-1 win over the Calgary Flames in overtime.
Woll was recalled from the AHL’s Toronto Marlies after Petr Mrazek suffered a setback with his groin injury. He last played against the Belleville Senators on Oct. 30 making 22 saves in a 5-2 win.
The Maple Leafs took Woll in the third round of the 2016 NHL Draft. In three games with the Marlies this season, his third with that team, Woll has a 2-1 record with a 3.38 GAA and a .895 save percentage.
