The Toronto Maple Leafs have sent down Wayne Simmonds and recalled forward Pontus Holmberg from their AHL affiliate Toronto Marlies.
The Swedish product, Holmberg, has two assists in seven games so far this year for the Marlies.
Simmonds has played three games for the big club this year and amassed one assist. He has recorded 525 points in 1,022 NHL games.
