Toronto Maple Leafs star centre Auston Matthews will be a game-time decision on Thursday when the team faces the host Detroit Red Wings, coach Sheldon Keefe announced.
Matthews sat out with an undisclosed injury on Wednesday when the Leafs beat the Nashville Predators 2-1.
Keefe did not elaborate on the injury when talking with reporters on Thursday. He said Wednesday it was a lingering issue and called Matthews' status day-to-day.
The 2021-22 NHL MVP has 20 goals and 27 assists in 41 games this season.
