Toronto Maple Leafs star centre Auston Matthews was on the ice again for practice Friday and is reportedly making progress.
Head coach Sheldon Keefe told reporters that Matthews' status for Game 7 against the Boston Bruins remains undetermined.
“There’s been progress,” Keefe told reporters, "but no determination on his availability."
The 26-year-old was not available for Game 6 after he did not participate in morning skate, but did take to the ice to skate and do puck drills before the team arrived.
Matthews was pulled from Game 4 in the second intermission and did not play Game 5 as he recovers from an undisclosed illness and/or a mystery injury.
The Maple Leafs have won both games that Matthews has missed to force a Game 7.
The Maple Leafs will take on the Bruins in Game 7 with the winner moving on to play the Florida Panthers. Watch all the action on Sportsnet and Sportsnet+, starting at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT.
