One of the Toronto Maple Leafs' off-season acquisitions has suffered an injury.
Nick Paul exited Wednesday's pre-season game against the Ottawa Senators with an undisclosed injury.
The ailment is not expected to be too serious, but the team will know tomorrow, head coach Jim Hiller told reporters following the 6-1 victory.
It's unclear when Paul got injured, but he didn't return to the ice after the first intermission. He played 4:42 in the opening frame and had a shot on goal.
Paul was acquired from the Tampa Bay Lightning on July 1 for Dennis Hildeby and a fourth-round pick.
The 31-year-old forward had 15 points (seven goals and eight assists) in 51 games in 2025-26. But he surpassed 40 points in the previous two seasons.
