With Joseph Woll's upcoming return to the crease, the Toronto Maple Leafs have made a roster move.
The team placed goalie Cayden Primeau on waivers on Friday.
Woll served as the team's No. 2 goalie in practice and is set to begin a conditioning stint over the weekend with the Toronto Marlies of the AHL.
Primeau made three starts for the Leafs while Woll was absent, going 2-1 with a 4.31 goals-against average and .838 save percentage. Toronto claimed Primeau off waivers from the Carolina Hurricanes prior to the start of the regular season.
The 26-year-old Primeau has made 52 starts in his NHL career, owning a 3.73 GAA and .882 save percentage.
The Maple Leafs return to the ice Saturday against the Boston Bruins on Hockey Night in Canada.
