Maple Leafs place Tavares, Kerfoot in COVID-19 protocol

Captain John Tavares and the Maple Leafs will be seeking to even up their series with the Senators in action Saturday night.

The Toronto Maple Leafs have placed captain John Tavares and Alexander Kerfoot in the NHL's COVID-19 protocol.

Tavares, 31, is having a solid season, with 13 goals and 19 assists for 32 points in 29 games.

Kerfoot, also a centre, has four goals and 12 assists for 16 points in 30 games this season.

The Maple Leafs' next game is scheduled to be Saturday in Vancouver.
