The Toronto Maple Leafs and Ty Voit are parting ways.
The team placed the young winger on unconditional waivers for the purpose of a contract termination, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reported on Tuesday.
Per David Alter of The Hockey News, the decision was mutual and amicable.
Voit, 22, joined the Toronto organization in 2023-24, playing one AHL game before heading to the ECHL's Cincinnati Cylcones to play the majority of last season. He scored eight goals and registered 37 points in 63 games.
Voit was selected in the fifth round, 153rd overall, by the Maple Leafs at the 2021 NHL Draft. Should he clear waivers, he will become a free agent.
Meanwhile, the Calgary Flames placed Joni Jurmo on unconditional waivers also for the purpose of contract termination.
